Unusual/non Fish Tank Creatures

Well, i know apple snails and other snails are common, but there not the average and thats what makes them so unusual and cool.
I was wondering if anyone had other ideas of unusual/non fish creatures that can fit in the majority of fish tanks. Such as ADF's, shrimp, snails (cant think of any more).
As i've got an ADF, a snail and i'm getting some shrimp tomorrow, and i was wondering what other unusuals i could add to my tank.

Some of the large filter feeding shrimp are cool looking. Most inverts aren't good for tanks though, like crabs, lobsters etc.

My favorite thing to keep in tanks anymore is crayfish. There are many different kinds to choose from.

There are also Scuds though I'm not sure too much on them beyond their being small scavengers.
