I currently have 8 platys, one of them has rappid gill movment, at least 2 of them have clamped fins and one looks deformed. The deformed one seems to have no belly shape to it. Non of them are flicking/scratching on the surface and non apart from the one with rapid gill movment are gasping at the top! The rest are fine and so are the other ish in the community tank. I was treating for white spot a few weeks back which has now been cured, any ideas? Water stats are fine.

White spots I'm assuming is ich? Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's completely gone. The white spots are simple the visible signs of it. What kind of aeration do you have in the tank? Have they been eating?

What're your water stats? Amonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, Ph and Temperature. Do you have adequate air in the tank? Do the gills look red at all?

Clamped fins can sometimes be a sign of constipation, try treating with cooked shelled peas, mushed up and dropped in the tank.

the rapid gill movement could mean a lack of oxygen in the water.. do u have an air stone ?

Water stats are fine, i have a good aeration in the tank also, out of the 8 i have one has rapid gill movment, one has a flat belly shape to it and another has clamped fins, all are eating appart from the first one i mentioned. I gave the first i mentioned a salt water dip which has seemed to help but im curious as to what is wrong with thme!

What size tank do you have them in? Also are they the only type in the tank?

flat belly shape, is it female? chances are it is a virgin :) females are kinda flat/skinny until theyve been pregnant, then they have a fatter stomach all the time :)

Does that honestly exist? A virgin platy? It is like finding the Holy Grail.

Meds often deplete a tank's oxygen supply, but you said you had finished treating. Have you sprayed anything in the room, or has any member of your family? I'm constantly warning my family not to spray chemicals of any kind (perfums, deodorant spray, cleaning products, etc) in a room with a tank in it. But that would effect all the fish, not just the one. Are there fry in the tank? Females that have had a large drop often get very skinny afterwards and are a little worse for wear. Otherwise, anything from constipation to a bacterial infection could be the culprit.
