A few years ago I used a lot of air driven sponge filters, they went by the brand name of UNO and they were called Polyfilters. Does any of the UK based forum members remember these and are they still obtainable. I remember they were exceptionally cheap to purchase but were very very useful especially in fry tanks.
Thanks in advance
BigC..

At work we had a Junior Box filter for quite a long time sitting on the shelf. I haven't recently looked into our new supliers books to see if they do other similiar filters.

What i know we can get are Algrade sponge filters, which is like a upside down shedards crook with a air line attached and draws the water throught a very fine sponge.

We use these in the qurantine tanks at work and find them very good not clogging too easily, even when stacked with ill goldfish!

I find there easier to clean than the box filters we have about the place.

The UNO Polyfilters were the same idea as the Algarde sponge filters, only much less fancy and were very basic in design but were a fraction of the cost of the Algarde. Corner filters I find are clumbersome when it comes to cleaning etc.
Thanks for the input Paul.

BigC
