unknown "thing"

Help! I was cleaning my tank & I was checking the water to make sure I didn't vacuum any babies (mollies) & I found this unusual ?creature?. Looks sort of like a crawfish (my husband thinks it looks more like a scorpion) I will post pic as soon as I can figure out how to show it. I've had fish tanks for years & I have never encountered anything like this! : O

no, not recently. I stopped buying anything for this particular tank b/c some of my fish started w/sx of ick. so I started treatment & isolated these. (I had several pregnant mollies & when they give birth I move the babies to a nursery tank). I guess it would be possible, the last thing I bought was live plants?

I've heard things happen like this. How big is it? Do you have live plants?
If you do its possable it was one the plant as a baby or as an egg.

I'll bet it's some sort of fly larvae, like Caddisfly or Dragonfly or similar.

they are approx 1/2 in long, very thin (looked like a stalk of plant at first), it has antanaes at front & end tapers, looks almost like a "pincer". looks as if body has 2 segments. quick glance almost makes one think of ghost shrimp.

Nessa I think you should let them grow up and decide what to do with them when your sure what they are

I don't think they look like em though but could be wrong
