heya,
Just recently noticed one of my corydoras glancing off my plants and well anything it can (not allways tho)
I cant see any signs of Whitespot and no Ammonia or Nitrites present and Nitrates is never high (weekly water changes)

one cory has a white dot just infront of its dorsal fin but looks nothing like Whitespot and I think I would have had an outbreak now due to having a large quantity of corys.
do you think as a precuationary stage to treat for white spot?

Im worried it could be gill flukes. I have around 22ish corys all tank bred apart from 7 of them.
it's a fully planted tank and all appear healthy and active.
had 2 deaths ever the first was a baby got caught in the filter :( and the second was about a month ago just totally unexplained I think might have got hurt by the others or my Bristlenose catfish.

I'm running a Tetratex Ex1200 and my tanks 22gal...
I dose weekly with floraboost

Thanks for any recomendations.

how would this play with my Floraboost? as I'm changing my dosage to Daily of 5ml I cant imagine it causing any problems myself tho

Could you post all your water stats please? Is it just one corry, or all?

Could you post a picture of the lump, or a description if not?

I would lay off ALL treatment untill you have a deffinate diagnosis. Treating will increase stress, and if you are treating for the wrong thing, you will advance it's spread as a result. Also, when you change meds, you will need to run carbon for at least 24 hours before starting with the correct one, further reducing your chances of avoiding losses if you are dealing with an infection...

Do a large, 50%ish, waterchange and keep the system as clean as possible untill you can confirm/refute disease, as treatment will limit when and how much you waterchange by if they are needed

All the best

Ammonia 0ppm
Nitire 0ppm
Nitrate 10ppm

Cant get a picture to many corys and they dont stay still the little gits :p

Its small roughly half the size of a *lake limpit snail* if not slightly smaller very white but dont look sandy like Ich
It's only one with this mark and I cant confirm if its that fish thats glancing as they are as mentioned very active, Not active to the point that would indicate something wrong tho
I have only seen the one glancing but its not constant and all fish seem happy as they are still breeding
Thats the best of help I can give really.

This is why I was thinking gill flukes on the fish glancing and the White Spot/Lump might just be some abonormal growth

The lump looks fleshy, hairy, rounded e.t.c? Be as detailed as you can if pictures are out of the question. Diagnoses over the net are difficult with a picture, let alone without... Do all the fins look normal? No hemoraging e.t.c? Even if the minutest detail you are seeing seems irrelivant, mention it anyway ;) How regular is/was the flicking and was it once or repeated?

All the best

would flick minimum 5-10 times
all fins seem fine...no damage etc.. althought they did appear clamped after the flickering but no longer appear clamped. (which made me think Ich but I'm sure its not)
looking at the cory it appears 100% healthy other than it was flicking.
Not seen it flick now for a few hours or so..
But has been doing so for 5-7 days at a guess.

The lump is not hairy and is rounded.
Cant say its its bumped up but I would guess it is.

Realy, symptoms are too vague to make a diagnosis. Flicking is a common behavior, fish do occasionally get itches, and in a large group I guess there is no guarrentee it is the same fish each time? If not, it may be nothing to worry about. If it's the same fish for deffinate, then you may need to dig deeper for the caurse :good:

For the time being, keep monitoring the situation, keeping things as clean as possible

All the best
