Hello to everybody, Yesterday 2 guppies were lying on the bottom of the tank and this morning they were dead. Also one of my tiger stripes was dead. I don't know the reason of this. Also I changed the water 1 week ago and now it look cloudy like it never before. I though that it was ick, but I have been applying the medicine for 2 days and any progress have been achieved.

Tank size:20 gallons
pH:6.8
ammonia:?
nitrite:?
nitrate:?
kH:?
gH:?
tank temp:78

>>>> I just saw the tank and one guppy look weak, it is floating on the top of the tank, and it doesn't swim normally.
Also another guppy has a red spot on the tail. Here there are some pictures

1- fish swimming strangely:

2- fish with red spot (although the picture isn't clear, I highlighted the area of this red spot)

Could do with some water readings ?

Red spot could well be an infection, but if your Ammonia Nitrate or Nitrite are high, they are more lethal than the infection.

I would get a chemical test kit if you havent got one and test the water stats.

I wont even try to diagnose the red spot, Wilder is top drawer with illnesses like that... :shifty:

Cloudy water is bacteria in the water. I didnt think ICh made the water cloudy. I take it your tap water wasnt cloudy when you added it ? Cloudy water is called bacteria blossom.. Usually this is because you add too many fish in a non-mature tank, it goes into bio overload and the bacteria which feeds on large ammounts on ammonia / fish waste multiply.

Have you done a water change ?

Need water stats so take a sample of your water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.
The red spot bacterial, will need a bacterial med.

Thank you to all of you, I think I am going to replace the water on the tank, but before I will test the water for ammonia, I will post the resultss as soon as I buy the test kit.

If you have not cylcled your tank, the readings are probably high, and this may be why your fish are dying. Do you add any dechlorinator to your water?
