Hi all…

Just starting out with a new tank and I’m considering about gravel at the moment.

Has anybody ever used “Unipac Aqua Gravel (2mm)” and in people’s experience, would it be ok in the future for corydoras?

I’ve looked it up online, but unfortunately I cannot see from the picture if it is round or sharp. So not sure if its suitable…need to get feedback from someone who’s actually using it.

My friend is going to give me a bag that is left over….so it would be great if I could take it but I won't bother if its no good.

Also, if I am to have a semi-planted tank, do I need sub-soil….or would this gravel suffice?

What sub-soil would you recommend?

 This kind of answers my question then! I guess nobody uses this gravel!

I agree with truck, you will want to use sand. I use pool filter sand and give it an excellent rinse before use to get the dust out, then add straight to your tank. After you fill it with water you will notice your water will be cloudy (do not turn filters on) give it a few days to settle then turn your filter(s) on. You can also get a glass cooking pan and sit it on the sand and fill your water up by letting the cooking pan overflow so there is no direct shot from the water cause the sand to be stirred up.
