i have just notices hundreds of tiny (bearly visable) beasties in my boys tanks, they are 2.5 galon tanks, lined with sand, a few plants and some plant pots. they get no artificial light as the room is very bright anyway, they are unheated and unfiltered, but get regular water changes. i had just done a water change and noticed a few little dots that i though may have just been debris stirred up by the water being pumped in, but looking closer i saw that they were moving around, and there were hundereds of them. could anyone say what they are ?and could they make food food for the fry? the adults dont seem to take any notice of them.

Little white worms? Probably planaria. You could use them as food if you want. When my betta tank broke out with them, my bettas would peck at the tank walls and eat them. They're harmless. Just need to do some good gravel vacs, make sure all uneaten food is picked up, perhaps test water to see if there is an ammonia spike.
They'll eventually go away though... maybe not completely but enough to where you won't notice them anymore.

I am glad I looked in here first as I was going to ask the same ? I noticed the spots on my tank and noticed one was trying to swim around. my guppy doesn't care about them but I got to thinking once I saw them. thanks for the info.
