My freshwater 5 gal tank is riddled with some hair algae and some diatomas... I'm cleaning them every week, but these last few days I've noticed something that looked like maybe some other type of algae.

But it's alive!

They're like little white worms, very tiny and slim, the smallest ones are about 1mm long and the longest 5mm. What are those things? They're wiggling on the glass in the algae, I hope they're not harmful!

Could they have migrated in a few weeks ago with my shrimp?

Thanks

sounds like planeria.
harmless and often (but not always) caused by overfeeding.
don't feed the fish for a few days and they will eat the planeria
