Unidentified Creatures.

Hi, I put a big tub out in the back garden a few months back, it had all my old gravel in from my tanks change over to sand. I have more recently put some old slate an a big moss ball from my tank in. Obviously this is freezing cold water but I looked in today and there are loads of what seem to be blood worms in it. could I possibly have got some left over, live blood worms in there and they have started breeding? Or is it simply something else laying eggs in the water from outside, some of them a big and they are red and very like blood worms.. Thx in advance...

mosquto lavee, i think back a while ago i had a bucket full of bricks etc and one day there were hundreds of the worms and i wnated to keep them but they will fly away
