I have hust received a JBL Protemp basis 250 undergravel heating cable system from an online retailer.
The transformer supplied has a 2 pin plug and is rated at 230v/50-60hz.

Does anyone have any experience of these and know
- should I have got one with a UK plug/transformer?
- if not, is this safe to use on UK mains voltage and how (just a simple plug adaptor?)

I am quite happy to use an adaptor, but would rather make sure its ok first, before burning down my house!

Thank you

is your plug 130V

in SA our power is 230V and plugging a 130v application into 230 would be fun to watch..? I guess it would be just as unsafe the other way around..

also you'll only notice the under gravel heating starts working the second year after its installed

Mains voltage here is 240v, so I think it should be ok?

It will be fine with our mains supply (240v)
you can either buy a "shaver" adaptor or fit a std uk plug to it.
