Hi all,

I need some pretty urgent advice please.

I'm about to set up my fish tank which came with an old ugf. Before I put in my gravel (which I've been boiling for a couple of hours) I wanted to know, Is it worth using it??? I will have an another filter in the tank (Fluval 3 Plus).

Also I have not used a UGF before and as it is an old system it didn't come with any instructions on how to set it up...........Is it really worth all the hassle??

Thanks :D

IMO it is not worth the headache. my 56 gal came with one and i used it for a while, but it makes it hard to grow live plants and there is no way to clean one. also unless you buy power heads instead of using the air pump to power it, they just don't' move that much water through the gravel. HTH
