Last week I detected 0.25ppm of amonia in my cycled Juwel Trigon 190.
I've cut back the feeding regime & started testing every 12 hours & I added a complete mature sponge from my Eheim 2224. Trouble is, it's getting progressively worse. Initialy I was finding the amonia rising to 0.25 in 24 hours, today (9 days later) it's rising to 0.25 - 0.5 in 12 hours.
I'm at a complete loss as to why it's getting worse & worse, I have no live plants in the tank, stocking is as per my sig & I've accounted for all my fish so no dead ones laying around. My water changes are fully dechlorinated with Aqua One conditioner (stopped using Prime after suggestions it could be causing a false reading) & I know the API kit is sound as my other tank tests perfect.
Can anyone give me any pointers on what it could be that is causing this problem?
cheers
Mick
