Fluval 20g CO2 Kit

I will stress this before beginning, this is not a review. Just an unboxing for people to see the contents/dimensions. Maybe also a good indicator as to whether you want this kit?

When purchasing my Fluval Flora Kit it came with a pressurised CO2 kit, for the unit individually it is going for around £30 so to be included in a 30L Kit worth £90 was aceptable.

I mainly bought the kit for the Tank but a few extras are never turned down

The material used is plastic, this is not glass.

Was surprised with this one, the diffusers are detachable. You could even stack them in 2+ times if you wanted.

Sorry for the transparent ruler :/

Looks the part. The only bit I am weary about is how long those little canisters will last on a 30 litre tank.

Looks cool the canisters remind me of the Air rifle ones. might get them cheaper from a hunting shop.

I was thinking the same thing. Can you get them threaded for rifles? Mine are pierced.

kk, looks to be an 88g threaded CO2 canister, you'll want to match the number of threads to get the right one (I'll guess 11)
Replacements would be about £5 retail :good:

Well I've heard from people that instead of filling the air chamber/s up every time they are low they will only do bursts of co2 every week. This seems to make them last.

Just buy a Co2 fire extinguisher and it'll last years lol

My 30l is a heavily planted setup with 24w of T5 lighting. I think that I will need one fill per day minimum. The only thing that is putting me off the kit is the cost of replacement cylinders as I dont know how long one would last under these circumstances.

Overkill on a 30l I imagine

Please. I am currently dosing liquid carbon daily but thought that the kit would allow a more constant supply.

I would just like to add that I purchased one of these kits about 3 weeks ago. I use it in the edge 21l and I fill it up at 8 in the morning and it lasts till about 6 at night give or take a hour. I havnt had to replace the canister yet so it seems to last quite a while.

I'd love a C02 system, I just don't want to be spending too much on canisters. In fact I need to research the fire extinguisher ones...

I can confirm at one dose per day the canisters last for one month

and my co2 is at a constant 10ppm
