One of my fish has had babies, in fact a few of them have, and the babies all look very similar (Mollies and Swordies) I think the one with the problem is a molly, but I can't be sure.

The problem with it is a fairly large whitish blob in its underside, towards the back of the stomach. Im thinking it's probably an ulcer.

Has anyone any other thoughts on what it might be and how to treat it. I can't separate it cos I've only got one tank. All water stats are fine.

Any fluffyiness on the blob, or red to it, you will needs a bacterial med like anti internal bacteria med by interpet.

No, no fluffiness or redness, just a white round blobby thing  the fish seems to be swimming and eating ok.

I've got Melafix and Pimafix - are they any good to use?

Melafix is no good, i would add myxazin by waterlife and primafix, watch if it goes fluffy, as it could be columnaris too.

seems fine now..................either that or it dies without me noticing, with it being a baby, I wasn't sure how many there were, 7 or 8 and they all looked the same

I know what you mean you count them then forget later how many they were, write it down it a book ifind that the best method, hope it's ok, good luck.

Hi

I have almost the same symptoms in may tank except the blob is red. Again it is a female and right next to the 'fin at the bottom'. All water stats are fine, tank has been running for 7 months and have been doing regular small water changes to help with the heat.

TIA

Coomon, it bacterial and you will need a bacterial med, don't know your location so can't tell you which med to get, if you can its best to issolate the sick fish for treatment, if not you will have to add the med to the tank, good luck.
