the filter is on the outside of the tank

ok the filter says exactly as follows : Topfin 20

and i thought you said filter cartrideg at first and i lifted it and all this crap came out of it and now i cant see my fish

i hope theyll be fine, im leaving like when my dad gets back to get the stuff for the other tank. how do you get the gunk for the new filter?

and yes ill get a liquid test kit and no the tank is nothing like that. it is literally cheap plastic that can house fish to snakes. also the new filter will be an inside tank filter as well.

unfortunatley my dad dint let me get the tank, but i did get a new med that wont hurt the catfish, and it supposedly wont harm my cycle bacteria. but i do have to take out my filter cartridhe which has both carbon and bacteria, im wondering if the bacteria in the gravel will suffice and if the filter cartridge should stay alive for 10 days. how do i do this?

If the med dosn't harm the bacteria in the filter why do you have to remove the sponges.
The only cartridge you need to remove is the black carbon.

im so sorry i still dont get it, my filter only has the 1 cartridge wich i presume has both the carbon and bactria in it, i have taken it out and put it in a tupper ware thing filled with de chlorinated water so it wont dry out and il hopefully be able to keep the bacteria alive, should i feed it?

it wont be there for long, 2 more days because there is no more white spot, the instructions say to keep treating for another 3 days.

Ask in tropical discussion about your cartridge. Never used them so don't have a clue.

thanks, by the way they are doing a whole lot better and nw the fish that didnt even show color when they werent infected are turning a wonderful purple-blue. they goin to be fine
