i was at my LFS today buyins swordtail, molly, and a angel fish. well the guy there was chasing the swordtail around the tank and grab 3 molly fry  when i got home i put them in a little 1 gallon i have to set up my 5 gallon and cycle it. the fry are small but one is about 1in long. my Q. is i never have kept molly fry and 3 of my black molly are pergo. what do i feed the fry?

thanks :good:

I have bred mollie fry tons, they actualy thrive on normal flak food.
Don't listen to all this stuff about giving them shrimp an dstuff.... its not worth it.
Also mollie babies do quite well with adults, as long as they are a far legnth, 1inch is plenty.

How big are the fry? most likely they're already too big to eat - as long as they don't look like they would fit into your fish's mouths, they'll probably be fine - distance has nothing to do with it. New fry WILL be eaten if they are not separated into a different tank, breeder or breeding net.

I feed my fry the "hikari first bites". Flake food can often be crushed adequately small enough, but I don't believe it has all of the nutrition that the fry needs.

well i only have like 5-6 in molly in my community tank and the parents i have no clue where they are. but the biggest one is 1in will my angels eat her?

ok here whats in my tank...

are they all in the 5 gallon you stated?

oh no all the other fish are in a 40 gallon the fru are in a 5 gallon.

If your Angel is 5" then your fry will need to be at least 1.5" or preferably more before rejoining the main tank.

Angels are notorious and will try to eat anything that is remotely near the size of its mouth.

well i put the 1in fry in my tank and shes till a live she dosent fit in any ones mouth. now i have to wait for the others to grow.
