Went to Pets at Home to get dog food this morning and look what else I got!!!!!!! Had no intention of getting a VT but he was soooo pretty  that I couldn't resist.

I've got 2 names but not sure which one to stick with......Strudel or Cobbler (as in Peach) what do you guys think :D Sorry there are so many pics but I couldn't decide which ones to put on :/

ARGHHHHH so jealous of these pretty bettas people keep finding :(:(:(:(
I sooooo can't wait til i have more money!!!!!
Which pets at home was that?? Truro??

I'm in Plymouth, no P@H here, only truro and exeter, exeter being a bit closer!

p.s: he's BEAUTIFUL!

Hi HollypOp

Yes it was the Truro one. They are very good in there. They even filled out a form and asked us lots of questions about our tanks and what other fish and plants we had. Apparently they do they same for fish now as they do with small animals.

Ahh that's interesting, do they have a wide variety of bettas in there?
Any females?

I wonder if Exeter's the same....hmmmmmmm

They have got a few females in there. But we also have 5 other aquatic shops within 10 miles of Truro. We got our females from Bow Aquatics as they had more of a selection. The males in Pets@Home are usually VTs and just up the road at Chacewater Garden Centre they have mainly CTs. We are really lucky that we have so much choice down here. If you get down this way we'll have to meet up. We are only half a mile from Pets@Home :)

Wow that's nice you got a selection, what sort of colour VT's do they get in.....I'm way more of a VT then CT fan anyways :)
there's only really one place in plymouth to get nice bettas, they get VTs and CTs too.
The other places unless you hit on a lucky day mainly only has mistreated red and blue VTs, and you never get a girl that isn't a blue VT down here.

Yeah I should try and make a day trip over really....check it all out, maybe when I have some money then I can actually go out with the intent of shopping!

They tend to get the darker colours in....blues, purples, reds. This is the first time I've seen one this colour but will keep an eye out and let you know what they have. We're in there a couple of times every week anyway and I've yet to see any sickly or mistreated ones in there.

that's good news...guess you got lucky today then, well done!!!!
The best place here often has gorgeous colours in but they sell FAST.....I've yet to go in when they've had their shipment, which apparently is a friday every other week, i need to do that really....see what the best of the best are like ;)
knowing me i'll come home with a fish i don't have room or money for reeeally....lol....well only don't have room because i'd need to buy another filter and heater, and probably tank after a while....only spare vessel I have atm is a pet carrier...lol :good:

  never mind. I can guarantee that I would be a very bad influence on you if you came down.......that's why we have 6 dogs too. I just can't help myself. I think I have a very addictive personality!!!!

LOL I'm like it with fish.....I sort of was with fluffy things but we have 4 rats at home, 3 of which from a litter we bred, don't think i'm so addicted to rats, only when you initially buy a load, after that you don't want anymore giant cages about...lol....I like bettas because they can go in nice small, pretty to look at tanks which never smell and take a short amount of time to clean and maintain, easily addictive ;)

And they're not as noisy as rats. I had 2 a few years ago and they made a hell of a racket at night on their wheel  Like you say the Bettas are pretty to look at and don't take up so much room and are very quiet. If my son ever leaves home, I can imagine what his room will be turned into
