WEll My freind is taking her 55 down and asked me to take her mushrooms wich is no prob, but she has a bubble coral and a flame torch coral, and im not sure, I've researched and they sound harmful to my shrimp and fish are they? I only have 5 frogspawns as some of you know and well the flame angel hasnt taken one nip at it , also shes giving me all of her live rock which has VERY good corraline algae on it, so the question is since she has no fish i dont think any desease has a chance of entering my tank, her tank has been set up for years, and she said if i dont take everything shes throwing it away. so i dont understand why but some of the lr can go in the quarantine tank, but whats the issue with the corals? are they too dangerous to add to my tank or is it fine and can I just place them a good ditance apart from one another.

p.s i havnt been on in awhile so i have to breeze through all of the interesting new forums and topics :hey:

Hey man, those corals are fine to place with fish. They're really only a danger to other corals. Frogspawns and Torch are from the same family and are usually compatible with each other, although sometimes they go after each other. Bubble corals are of the same family as frogspawns and torches and are SOMETIMES compatible but I'd keep the bubble seperate from the others if possible. They can all be in the same tank, just not in a place where they can extend tentacles to sting each other. The mushrooms will have to be placed away from all the other corals as they will get stung to death by the stronger frogspawn, torch, and bubble corals.

Well, thanks I have a new camera so I'll try n get some pice up here in a few days, the bubble coral used to be about 6 inches long she said, then she killed it, but when I got there it had made a come back and is now 2" long so I'm happy cuz I think It will do great In my tank :) my fish love the new rockwork with the live rock, my pincushin urchin wont leave my zooanthid alone the peice of rock its attatched to anyway. he tried to hoist it on top of himself for camofloug and well I have to pull it off :( so I have to prob get some rock glue, and she made a mistake its not a torch coral its unknown to me, its orange and look like its a ball with tubes comign out of it and its not a soft coral. I'm not sure. just some info :)
