I just got my new 20gl. tank and it has been set up for about 2 weeks cycling and i added some fish to it, i had fed them only once and then a few hours later it got really cloudy and it started to smell really bad! :/

Is there anything i can do to reduce cloudiness and smelliness?

need help asap!

thanks! :D :p

Well, your supposed to cycle your tank for a month, unless you are doing a fished cycle.

Other than cloudiness, I suggest you do daily 20% water changes until it goes away. Or maybe you feed them a little to much.

You should only feed them how much they can eat in a period of 5 minutes.

ok, me and my cousin did some water changes, it looks a little better, i think it might clear up in a few days! yay! the smell kinda went away, i will watch how much i feed them.

1ce a day?

2ce a day?

thanks

I feed my fish every other day.

I have an external, i am getting an amonia test kit later, and i am getting gravel from my matured tanks and putting some into the 20gl.

thanks everyone

Hi I know this sounds obvious but is your filter OK? I know mine was down to low and I had the same problem, i moved it up a bit and lo and behold, it works really well.

Just got back from the petstore with an amonia test kit

the amonia is about 1 i think ( i forget easily) lol
anyways i am doing the gravel thing and i am just gunna keep testing it until it gets to 0, the cloudiness will probably go down in a few weeks too, thanks sooo much everyone!
