I discovered a ugly looking worm clinging to the roots of one of my plants during a waterchange/replanting.
Heres a picture after i extracted it from the tank

Tank mainly consists of tetras, ~180L in size, some live plants. Any ideas what it is? harmful?

Will get water perams asap, but in the mean time, any heads up?

just one of the many different worms that appear in a healthy tank. They don't normally bother the fish and feed on rotting material in the gravel.

Ah, thats reassuring to hear. Is there a good site which lists these and other worms/creatures that would appear in a tank for future reference?

sorry, don't know of any sites that have to do with aquatic worms but maybe check the marine sites for inverts or check the local library for books on worms. I only know about the worms because I have had them in my tanks from time to time. I've had some that look like giant earthworms and were 8-10inches long, and other that had legs like yours but they were only little (1inch).

Looks like something from a marine tank to me  try posting in the marine section see what they think.
