I seriously don;t understnad.. can someone offer me reasons as to why I am cursed? is it something in the air? I think God just doe snot want me to have fish...

Both my tanks, who where cycled for and have been cycled for many weeks now are having nitrIte problems.. why why why why why?!!!

The goldfish tank has been fine for 2 months.. all summer and then suddenly nitrIte problems.. is it possible my goldfish have gotten too big and I need to add more media or filtration? I doubt it.. and then the cory catfish tank.. it was fine for some time then i added saome tiny rummynose tetras.. and NitrIte spike! then the fish died.. and still nitrIte is climbing.. why? it makes no logical sence.

Need to look at the tank in gallons or litres, and stocking of tanks, how often do you maintain them ,and what do you feed the fish.

that isthe think.. I have not fed them but 1 waffer each since the the problem started and yet it contiunes.. they used to get 2 waffers each... it is a 72 gallon tank.. i did a 50% water change this morning.. and it was close to 0 ppm.. then today jsut a minute ago it was .25.. :/ -sigh- the cories seem ok though.. swimmign around looking for food now.. but the poor rummies did not stand a chance.. I mean it is only 13 little cories in 72 gallons... how logn might it take for the bacteria to adjust to a .25 ppm increase during 10 hours?

Sounds like with only having the corys in a 72gal some of the bacteria has died off as they are not producing enough for the tank size.

What about adding a goldfish for now to speed things up, so you can add some more fish.
