So for 4 and a half hours my breeding pair were embracing but releasing no eggs (neither of them left the bubble nest for this period of time.)
I go away for 80mins and the female is at the opposite end to the bubble nest (and male) and releasing her eggs (only about 5 every few mins)
Every so often the male comes up to her, flares, then swims back to the nest.
I checked for eggs in the nest, and can't see any..
The male is still under the nest, looking up at it. Could this mean they did mate? Is it normal to not be able to see the eggs?

Well the eggs are a pale whity yellow so its not that hard no tosee them in a good nest

And as for the male its sounds good he may be protecting them just keeping an eye

But u shoul know in 36-72 hours

The eggs the female is dropping (by herself without the male) at the moment are how you described them, so that's good I know what they look like - but I can't see any in the nest

Is it normal for the female to be dropping more eggs after they have spawned?

Yeh thats all ok it is also normal for the female to relese eggs after a spawn moment these my not be fertilized

Should I remove her? The male just chased her away from the nest so I'm assuming there is eggs in the nest but I'm not sure.
Maybe I'll remove her then try again in a few days if no eggs hatch...

Ok yeh remove her as she and the eggs are at risk of death

Dad will kill her if she stays

She may (if dad dsnt get her) eat the eggs

Give it 3-4 days before trying again dont feed dad just in case there are eggs he then may eat them also
And keep feeding her frozens in case of no eggs so she is in conditioning still

yea the eggs are very hard to see sometimtes becuz the male may puch it up deep into the nest, you will see em after u remove the female and sometimes the eggs drop out of the nest.
