Types Of Rock Bad?

hey i was wondering what type of rock is to be avoided in a freshwater tank
i have two lovely smooth round rocks , grey with white stripes/rings on them - are they ok to put in the tank? i also have some grey slate...is that ok too?

yes they should be fine some rocks like limerock should be avoided and any other rocks that are to be used in specialist cichlid tanks as they change the ph and hardness iam sure other members will give you a good list on what to avoid
