One of my decent local fish stores told me some of his experiences keeping brackish and he thought that only P.taeniatus was captured in brackish water and therefore the common krib (especially if tank bred) shouldn't be kept with salt...got me a bit worried as I'm planning on keeping my common kribs as I go brackish....anyone know for sure?

Cheers
Andy

kribs are freshwater, as far as I know.
ask in the chiclid forums, there are loads of krib experts there.

Kribs will love brakish water up to a point. Upto 0.01 SG they will love it, they can tolerate up to full sea water, 1.024 but wont like it, and love FW but dont like that a hole bunch to.

I have had them breed at 1.00 and at 1.014 no problem, still have fry from both births.

They will kill any remaining at the next spawn.
