Hi. I'm in the process of cycling my tank (fishless) and have been trying to research the type of fish that would be suitable. I have a 54 litre (11 gallon - imperial) tank measuring 61 cm x 31 cm x 31 cm. My PH levels seem to remain steady at around about 7.5, so I figure that will be the level it will stay at. It hasn't changed throughout the cycling stages so far. My question is, therefore, where can I find out what fish are suitable for my kind of water and size of tank - any links to useful sites would be appreciated because I've tried and can't find anything - or any suggestions also would be gladly accepted. I like the idea of tetras, catfish, etc. but really haven't got a clue.

Thanks again. :good:

11 gal is too small for catfish IMO although there are dwarf cory speicies that would be ok in there, are you wanting peaceful?semi aggressive?colourful?active?

I'd look at poecilids; most tetras and catfish prefer soft water;
guppy, molly, platy, swordtail...
Not sure about larger fish...

Tetras and corys prefer slightly acidic water but they would be ok in your tank. If you end up adding driftwood for looks, that will lower the ph slightly too. The tank really isn't big enough for any type large fish. Anything that grows to more than 4" would be cramped and even some smaller fish such as danios need a bigger tank as they need lots of swimming room.
