Two Tanks-

hi everyone-
if i were to set up two ten gallon tanks. one of them is a cycled tank with a HOB filter and the second is not cycled with a HOB filter. i add a few tetras to each tank. will the fish in the second uncycled tank die or get sick?

im not being a smart a.s.s or trying to prove anyone wrong here i was just wondering...

Yes, every uncycled tank will go through a cycle when you put the fish in, and they are likely to die/get sick during the cycle.

im really not sure. it is possible. may i ask why the second has not been cycled??
i suggest that u let it cycle through before adding anything. just to be on the safe side.

yes the fish in the secind tank would have a tough time.
but if you took half the water and half the filter media from the first tank to put in the second tank and checked your stats every day it should only take a week or so to do a mini cycle if at all, as this process should virtually clone the first tank
