I, i know this is probably answered somewhere but i'm pretty new to this whole forum thing.
I have aquestion about ph levels. My ph is currently 6.6, this is my standard water ph. I have platys and know they prefer it more 7-7.6 (so i've heard anyway)

I really don't want to use chemicals to alter it, is there anything natural i can put in the tank to raise it up a bit? If so where do i get it?

I'm also the idiot who bought 6 female platties, then bought 2 males. Then found out that 2 of my 'females' just hadn't sexed out and are indeed male. My females are harrassed and i have no other place to put them, lfs won't take fish back (or i'd just return the 2 'extra' males.)

Any ideas?

Hmmm, if at all possible, I'd give your platies to a friend, or someone who has harder water than you. I don't know what to do about your unbalanced sex problem. Personally, I'd want to start again, I live in a harder water area, and this causes some problems with south american fish if I'm not careful. If I were you, I'd do a lovely soft water amazon set up. If you've really got your heart set on your platys then I know calcium raises pH, but I'm not in a position on how to advise you over the treament of the water.
