Fish Crazy
Last Monday one of my mollies died, but I didn't think too much of it since she was quite old. However today I came across another molly that had died and was all red around her fins and under her head. I don't know if the first one was like this as my partner found her.
One death is unfortunate, two is suspicious. The tests are all fine (0/0/5), however I do have a new powerhead. Over the last few months I noticed my clown loaches sticking their heads in the filter outtake - which I took to mean they wanted a bit more water movement. I got a Boyu submersible pump SP-1800 a couple of weeks ago. The nozzle is pointed to the glass to weaken it and there are numerous areas hidden from the current. I have been watching the fish closly and the clown loaches love it (they have been swimming in the current a lot). My other fish don't seem to mind as I presumed they would hide away from the current if they did.
So are these deaths unfortunate, or could it be the new current? Or something else?
Thanks.
