As some of you know i bought 2 salvini cichlids at the weekend and put them in the tank with my 2 firemouths, but as i have been watching them i have noticed that they are twitching and then i noticed that one of the firemouths was twitching. Could this be a disease bought in from the salvinis? I have tested the water and everything is ok! -_- Its mainly one of the new salvinis but it only does it when the male firemouth goes near it, could the salvini be a female?

maybe if they are twitching onto objects then it could be itch?

Its to do with mating! my guppy male does it sometimes...

Its perfectly normal amongst cichlids, it is normaly either a sign of aggression or part of a mating ritual.

Check your tank for stray currents. Because they are cichlids and their agressive nature, they might have broken a part of your heater.

I've had to delete some rude and pointless comments from this thread. I'm sorry if some worthwhile comments had to be removed too.
