Morning guys,

im a little worried that my map turtle is not basking enough, I understand they are more auatic than othrs bt im sure he needs to get out and dry off from time to time? how can I tell if he is notbasking enough? and also, I have no knowledge of turtle illness so are there any common ailmnts to be aware of?

Mine didn't bask a lot when I first got him I think cos of the new surroundings they feel safer in the water but I'm sure he will start basking more. Check out www.terrapintank.co.uk they have lots of good info including care sheets and illnesses.

give him time, he's small and your big, and he's in a new home right? He'll get used to his new home, and you and he'll learn he can come out safely. give him a good amount of time.
My baby spot I've had since Oct 07, she's just getting to trust me now.
