Spawning in 2.5 gallon; heated. The female is in a petsmart cup floating in the tank and the male is flaring a lot. They are both well prepared. They have been fed bloodworms for the past 1-2 weeks. The female is very eggy and her oviposter is sticking out. I hope to see a bubblenest in the morning and spawnage by friday.

Questions I have::

If i have a Hm and a dtpk what tailtypes will i get?

Shes a natural color and hes a turquise, possibly butterfly. What colors will I get?

She has also had "stress stripes" sense i got her, so i think there her color not stress related. How will I tell when she has breeding bars?

Nevermind. I just checked and her stripes got really light and now she has breeding bars. She has bars and her oviposter is showing after 10 minutes in the tanks. I think these spawn will go very well.

What can i feed the babies if my mom wont let me have live foods? I have liquid fry food from the store and granulated fry food from the store.

Have a look at the link below which gives all the information you need. 2.5gal is no where near big enough for using as a spawning tank as you could potentially end up with 150+ fry. You need to have everything prepared and ready before you even think about spawning. Once you are ready and you can't feed live, see if you can get Atisons Betta Starter which is a powder food. For the first two weeks though this would need to be ground down even more as although it's very fine, it is still too big for the small fry. If you have any more question come back and ask here and there will always be someone to point you in the right direction
