Hi guys quick (and probably stupid) question. I taking down my shrimp tank and I'll be moving the pressurised CO2 system to another tank in a few days. Can I just turn off the CO2 using the dial until I need it again?

Thanks.

it depends which dial, can you get a pic/ link of the setup?

The one that dictates how much CO2 that goes into the tank. Can I just turn it totally off while im not using the canister or will it explode because of the pressure?

If your CO2 canister is attached to a proper regulator having the regulator's valve turned to off will be fine...that's what they are designed for - just dont unscrew the canister away from the regulator if any pressurised gas remains otherwise there will be a problem :)

Cheers man I knew it was a silly question

be careful on the cheaper models as it can ruin the thread, people have reported problems with some, such as the ones from Aquatic Magic.

If you have a valve on the top of your cylinder I would say that it's better to turn it off at the cylinder. If you have no way of isolating the cylinder (which is unlikely with larger cylinders) then the regulator is ur only option I guess.
