Hello all,

As you may have seen i posted an earlier post about powerheads and was looking at seio ones but after some comments and furhter investigation i have decided that tunze are better quality and have a considerably lower energy consumption so i have decdided to go with them (glad i asked you guys before i went ahead and ordered seio).

I was wondering to start with would 2 tunze turbelle stream 6060 's be ok (my tank is six foot long and one would sit at each end), they give a flow rate of 6000lph giving me a rough turnover of 20x per hour, (my display tank is just over 600liters). Also my sump return pump is 6500lph and does not have to push upwards very much as my sump will be situated at about the same height as my tank (on opposite side of wall) and the pipes come up through the base into a long spray thats sits along the bottom and sprays through the live rock so this could add to tank turnover i guess

what do you think?

Thanks for looking

That sounds efficient to me. I wouldnt really factor the flow from the spray bar into the flow in the visible part of the tank seeing as how that small amount of flow from the spray bar is then being shredded apart by rocks.

Ok Thanks, i guess you are right about the rocks breaking up the spraybar flow

Yeah, I'd think two 6060's should do well for your tank. If you want to keep a bunch of hard corals you might eventually consider adding a third one, but two would be a good place to start

A lot of people have between 10-20 times turnover in their tanks but I know people who have almost 40times turnover. It all depends on what corals etc you wish to keep in the tank!

Ok thankyou very much guys i will go and buy atleast one tomorrow then, and the other whenever i can afford it for when the tank will be set up. i cant wait

Cheers for all the help everyone :good:
