Malawi tank and looking to add some loaches... any suggestions?

Gal in catfish/loaches room said Skunks would hold their own but not too fond of their look, no offense. Hence the name?

Thanks Mark, that link worked and a great article!! Think will stick with them in my Rainbow tank, have had good luck in there over time. New to cichlids and was lookin for some variety but not at the expense of anything.

Thanks again!

yw cwn- that lady is an amazing clown keeper- She lost her huge loach Marge which is pictured on that site.

I fixed my link - not sure how I messed it up. I have kept all sorts of fish to date and have managed to spawn a number. But my favorite tanks holds my oldest fish, here is a picture from about 2 years ago. The SAE is almost 6 inches.

Today, I have had these guys since early 2003. I estimate the age for the oldest at about 11-12 years. They will be the last fish I give up.

lol, hope my 30 loaches of 20 different species dont read that article. Though i do disagree with the aggression issue, my cichlids dont even pay them any attention. Tho, i do have mainly open water haps and A LOT of loaches. I must admit im not planning on keeping them in hard water long term and i am going to set up a loach tank better suited to their needs. BUT, for the passed 3 years i have kept loaches in my malawi tank, KH 8 to 10, pH 7.9 to 8.1, and raised them on New Era African cichlid pellets aswell as frozen mysis shrimp, brineshrimp with garlic and tubifex. And they are in fantastic condition. Beautiful body shape and happy as a happy loach can be. Some are even hand tame now and actually come up to feed out of my hand when they think frozen food is on offer.
I think im developing an addiction to loaches!
