My tank currently consists of 2 Dwarf Gouramis, 6 Tiger Barbs, 2 Silver Sharks, 2 Black Ghosts, 2 Fire Eels, and 1 Clown Loach. Recently, I've bought some live red Tubifex worms form my local fish store. They've been rinsed and cleaned before I started using them for feeding. The thing that troubles me is that after feeding, there'll be some worms lying on the tank floor and they would start burrowing themselves into the gravel. My Clown Loach, Black Ghost, and Fire Eels takes care of most of them but there's be some still left uneaten. I heard they won't last long in tank conditions and would die after awhile, polluting the tank in many ways.

What should I do to prevent this? Can I trust that my fishes would clean them up eventually or remove them manually?

Why not use frozen? They’re just as nutritious and tasty, and less risk of introducing something unwanted into your tank.
