i got him in a salt bath with some melafix
it does not seem to be healing well
i should be able to exchange him
the params are
0amm
0ite
1ate
7+ph

i will add photos

My sister's betta got fin rot once. We did 50% water changes daily to keep the parameters stable. It healed up within a week and the betta is active, enjoying his larger tank. I would think that moving the fish would cause a lot of stress, which is not good when you want a fish to heal. Certain factors, such as stress, make your fish more susceptible to disease. What is the GH?

gh 100+
kh 70+
he's in the same tank but with a floating seperator, he is not stressed, he breathes normally

Pictures and video of fish?

There's no point putting the fish in a salt bath because any diseases it has are already in the main tank. Just do a huge water change, gravel clean the substrate, clean the filter, wipe the glass down, add salt to the main tank.

The GH is a bit low for guppies but not the issue.

i already did a big wc and all other fish have no symptoms
also isnt fin rot not contagious if all other fish are healthy? idk
i did all that today ill clean filter tomorrow
i cannot add salt to main tank because i have cories, impossible to catch

Fin rot is a symptom and is caused by poor water quality that allows harmful bacteria and fungus into the damage tissue. If there is a water quality issue (ammonia, nitrite, wrong pH) then all the fish can develop it. However, some fish get it more than others, depending on how physically strong they are and how capable they are of tolerating whatever is causing the water issue.

If the water is suitable for tetras but not guppies, then the guppies will be the first to get it. Same goes the other way, if the water is not suitable for tetras but is great for guppies, the tetras might get it.

If a fish is new it will be stressed and more likely to get a disease within the first few weeks of being added to the tank. Fish can have diseases at the pet shop and not show symptoms until 1 or 2 days later. This is where a quarantine tank comes in handy and all new fish can spend a month in quarantine before being added to the main display tank.
