It's hard to say, because pic one should be female, and pic two, i'm not sure. Need to see his dorsal fin erect.

Edit: Actually, it's kind of hard to say for both. If the fist three spines are long(er) then it's a male. If not, it's probably a female.

Occasionally, but i doubt it'd be as bad as with two males.

You can't use the traditional 'dorsal fin is longer' thing for Bolivian Rams.

I have two Bolivian Rams one has the first couple of dorsal fins longer than the rest, the other ram has shorter dorsal fins. Both are male and its only once they matured that i could tell.

IME you can only tell by the tail extensions which only appear once they grow older. The female is also said to be less colourful so i'd hazard a guess and say both are males.

Only time will tell
