Does anybody have any info on them? A fish store near me has them in stock. Would one get along with an oscar, convict, and firemouth?

How big are they?

Also how much Lol.

I have only seen a few of these guys around, if you really mean the true one, which name escapes me at present. You should buy them all and breed them mate.

They are peaceful for a cichlid and like being in groups.

We had 12 x 6inch in our tank for a while but didnt have the time to get them to breed for me. They may be a little shy until they get used to there surroundings.

I havent kept them with many other fish, oscars, jags and a few others. In the 6months I had them all they did is swim, eat and poop Lol. They never messed with the others and they where left alone also.

Good luck,

Joel

Hybrid of a Severum and a Red Devil
Males usually Infertile
usually are dyed for comercial perposes though it is cruel and illegal "i think"

Hoplarchus Psittacus is usually hard to come by, as Blood Parrots are referd to as them so much.

I hope that answers your question

In the UK they are rare dont know about USA. I know when I do see them they are around £35 mark ... which is around $65 I think.

Yeah its cheaper here, actually its on sale. I read they like soft, acidic water, like discus. That would probably mean they are a bad match for me as my water is just around neutral.

If you could dish out that much money, you can afford to pay for some peat moss. :p

My question: why is there so much hype over true parrots?
