recently my betta has developed a couple of lumps on him. looking at him from above the scales are raised i fear that this is dropsey.
he is acting some what normal his water has been murkey the last couple of days even with a water/filter change. today he has spent most of the day hiding either by the filter or under something. he did eat but then went back to his hiding.
i am not sure what else to do. i am replacing the filter again with a bio bag filter but i fear it might be too late to save my little study companion

please has any one elses betta had dropsy and lived. have i got the signs all wrong or is he doomed.

All you can do hun is treat him with internal bacteria meds, epson salts (not nomal salt) and keep his water clean. That may just do it

Don't start treating with meds until you find out exactly what he has! You can add some salt for comfort but do this gradually. Post a pic and somebody will definitely confirm the dropsy.

well i have been reading and there is a chance he is just constipated. thats what i am rooting for, at the moment he has been filled with peas so hopfully that will clear the little devil out.
