Trouble With Springtails

Hi everyone I just found them today and they're in 3 out of 4 of my tanks. I have two questions:

Firstly: Is there any quicker way to get rid of them besides squishing them with my fingers?
Secondly: How did they possibly get in my tanks? Could they have come from my fish pellets I just bought?

These tend to come and go in my tanks, I've no idea why but they seem to disappear as quickly as they appear. As far as I know they do no harm.
