Tropical Tank Manufacturers

I hope to upgrade to a new tank before Christmas and I'm looking around at various manufacturers of tanks. The two brand manufacturers I know of are Fluval and Juwel.

I'm in the market for a 60 litre tank and just wondered if anyone on this forum has had any negative experiences that would bias them against either of the manufacturers?

i`ve got jewel tans and rena tanks and my personal fave is the rena, Its a lovely design and the package that came with it all works well aswell....

the jewels are good tanks but the filters are a bit poo realy

What about the aquaone range. Gorgeous tanks well made and the rounded glass corners really set the tank off nicely. The built in filters are not much good, but my hubby cut mine out so I can now use an external or internal filter of my own.

We have Fluval tanks and found them to be fine. We are getting two Rena tanks though shortly as we've heard they are a decent tank.

just steer clear of Cold Seal tanks!!!!

my first tank was a fluval great value for money but a rena is a wonderful package, and looks are stunning just greatly overpriced as prices start at £600 lol

My first tank was a Rena 60 litre.

Very nice tank and overall a good setup. Resonably priced as well if i remember rightly.

Ive got a Juwel, Fluval and Aqua One tank. If i were to buy a new large tank id definately look at the Aqua One as their stuff is getting rave reviews for quality and also their pricing. The 255 Litre Aqua One is under £250 quid which is a bargain imo.

I've got a pair of Juwel Rekord 60 tanks and I like them and I like the filters too, there's loads of filter media in them, though I would prefer a stronger pump.

I suspect that there's not much to choose between all the makes at that size though

Recently went in search of a Juwel Lido to replace my Juwel Delta 80 but, at the time, they'd stopped making them. Ended up with a Fluval Duo Deep (60cm) and I must say, from an ownership point of view, I prefer it to the Juwel (although I do like the dimensions of the Lido). The only down side is that it came with a lot of kit that I simply sold off and replaced.

Also just bought the tiddly Aqua One tank. It's great apart from the condensation in the lid pouring down the back of the tank everytime I open it! (The top also leaks water down the back if you diffuse air in to the tank!).
