Hi y'all,

I'm setting up a new 40g breeder tank in my mom's unheated outbuilding ("pool house") in Mesa, Arizona in order to house my guppy/endler colony while I undergo my cross-country bicycle tour from San Diego to Miami. I am attempting to make the tank as easy as possible for my mom to keep up with. More than anything I'm concerned about the heat--my fish are used to about 72 degrees fahrenheit water temperature. The building is decently well insulated but unheated. In Mesa it usually doesn't get below about 43 degrees in the winter except for the occasional day or two every few years when it may get a few degrees colder than that. I'm planning to have two large heaters and one small one (I'm planning to build in redundancies for several aspects of the build including filtration, lighting, and feeding). This should be okay, yes? The heaters won't explode or something? The glass should be fine, right? Thanks yall.

If I was you, I'd use two 100 - 150w heaters on an external controller....or if you have money to burn, a single titanium heater on an external controller.
