On Sunday I upgraded my old Jewel Rio 125 to a Jewel Vision 180. I consulted my LFS and explained that the tank will be situated in the same place and they advised the following:
1) Bag up the fish
2) Empty all the existing tank water into buckets
3) Move the aquariums
4) Transfer the gravel and filter media over (same filter)
5) Replace the old tank water
6) Top up with dechlorinated (treated) fresh water
7) Leave for one hour to reach temperature
8) Re-introduce fish
Yesterday all seemed fine but this morning the fish seem to be panting/short of breath? I'm going to test the levels later this morning but wanted to know if anyone had any knowledge of what the problem could be and a resolution?
I obviously realise that this was not an ideal solution as the tank needs time to fully mature before fish are added but local LFS said all should be fine.
Many Thanks
