Hi,

Have we reached our limit in fish numbers yet ?

Tank size is 190 lts.

Fish already in the Tank are as follows.

5 LEOPARD GUPPIES (SMALL)
2 GIANT GUPPIES ( 1.5 inches each )
5 MICKY MOUSE PLATIES (SMALL)
5 BALLOON MOLLYS (SMALL)
10 NEON TETRA (VERY SMALL)
2 GOURAMIS ( 2 inches each )
3 CLOWN LOACH (SMALL )

John.

Yes, you have.

The clown loach need to be re-homed or you'll have to get a much larger tank, as they can grow to over a foot long (they're also prone to stress related diseases if not in groups of 6+), so you're looking at something like a 6x2x2' minimum if you want to keep them long term, I'm afraid.

Everything else looks fine, but I would point out that it makes no difference what size the fish are now; for stocking purposes you always go by the eventual, adult size of the fish; they need room to be able to grow, and can become stunted and unhealthy if not given enough space.

Do bear in mind that all those livebearers will breed (unless you have only males) so you're probably going to be very overstocked in another couple of months!

Hi,

Already found a new home for the loaches.

Guppies are all males.

Thank you.

Not just the guppies, also the platies, they are live bearers too. Each female will give birth to 20-30 fry every month, and for 6 months after the males have been removed

We could do with knowing what kind the gouamis are too, tbh; if they're dwarfs or honeys they'll be ok, but if they're kissers you might be in trouble with them too!

Hi,

2 Pearl Gouramis.
5 male micky mouse platy
5 female balloon MOLLYS

John.

I've never heard of a "balloon" platy. Are you sure that they aren't balloon MOLLYs? If so, then they won't cross breed.

There are ballon platy too. They look..well..just as bloated as the balloon mollies, though I could see the lfs getting the name wrong anyhow and calling them that when chances are they are balloon mollies. They will cross breed if they are both platy's though and produce less balloon-ish babies. As far as the Pearl Gourami, they will grow over 4 inches so they should be in a tank of at least 55 gallons. I don't know how many litres that is?

Yeah, I just googled them...

55 US gallons is approx 210 liters.

Hi,

That should of read - 5 BALLOON MOLLYS,NOT Platies.
