Hi all...

Just have a quick question. I popped into my friends house at the weekend and noticed that in their cold water goldfish tank...they had 2 tropical pleco's (sorry if i spelt that wrong) who seem to be hapilly surviving the cold water. I was shocked to say the least!

Are they likely to survive long term? I am trying to convince him to give them to me and let them live in my tropical tank as i fear they will die soon but they are having none of it saying they have been fine for 2 weeks.

Just thought i would ask

there is a couple of plecs that will survive in a coldwater tank but it still has to be at about 22 degrees i think

Ah so they may be ok then. Couldnt believe that they were in there. I asked him where he got them from as i hadnt seen them for cold water tanks before and hi said his friend gave them to him from their tropical tank!

Thanks for the reply

I keep a pleco (common) in my coldwater tank as the central heating in the house keeps it a pretty regular 22-24

He is doing very well doubled in size in 6 months
