Well I've more or less forgotten where I'm posting about these tanks, so I figured I'd just stick this up on its own.

Finally got the last of the three nanos up and running, and was lucky enough to bag some Indostomus paradoxus to put in it (coolest fish ever). Will put up a seperate post about those guys in a few days.

Have now run out of flat surfaces

This looks really nice love the way you have one or two plants within two tanks and the light idea is fab...... what fish if any do you have in there at the moment?:)

From left to right,

Tank 1 - Indostomus paradoxus
Tank 2 - Dario hysginon, Boraras urophthalmoides, cherry shrimp
Tank 3 - Trichopsis pumila, Caridina simoni simoni

very nice mate, you certainly seem to have the knack.

Far left, is that beech leaves like in your 'bucket' ? What's the routine you adopt when using leaves? and what's the benefit, if you don't mind answering?

Yeah same mix of beech, red oak and Indian almond leaves as in the bucket. My routine is to stick a few in, and leave them. When they're well decomposed I add some new ones. Never bother cleaning out mulm or anything.

Advantage is they release tannins and anti-bacterial compounds, lower the pH a bit and feed the microfauna.
