I saw THIS triple tube lighting strip at a good price and its excatly what i need for my soon to be 55 gallon brackish planted tank.... but my problem is that the 48 inch length strip takes T-8 bulbs. Will T-12 bulbs be ok to put into it? (Im assuming not but its better to ask)
And if it doesnt take T-12's can you reccomend a 48 inch full spectrum light with a color tempature of 6500-6700?

Hi,

It wont take T12 becasue the 'T' number is to do with the diameter of the tube, i.e T12 is 1.5" T8 is 1" and T5 is 5/8 of an inch.

Hope this helps.

Why do you need triple tubing. If you are looking for more watts, I would recommend a compact flourescent. It's about the same price, and the freshwater version comes with a 6500k bulb already.

What do you plan on growing in a BW tank that needs so much light?

i calculate 2wpg if its 55gal and 110watts. 110divided by 55 is 2
