I haven't spent any money on fishies in a while....anyone fancy coming to Wharf Aquatics (just outside Nottingham) with me sometime over the weekend? They were voted best tropical retailer of 2004 in PFK, and are worth a look even if you don't want to buy anything.

Lemme know, i can give 1 person a lift, or meet people there.

Sarah,

I went last weekend on the way to see friends in Ashbourne. First time I'd been and its great. I'll defintely be going back next time I need fish!

I live 30 mins away from Wharf and go as often as the wife will let me

Its worth a visit just to see the display tank which has a huge red tail catfish and a couple of arrowana's. They also have some stingrays in other tanks which although I have no intention of buying are incredible! The standard of the fish is the best I have seen..and I have seen quite a few!

Let us know how you got on and what you came home with!

Hi there,

I went to Wharf Aquatics last weekend and bought 10 Neon Tetras, there was a free one in the bag too so I got 11! So far they are doing fine, although one went missing last night and I found him in my filter, I rescued him and he seems happy I dont know how he got in there though I keep doing a headcount all the time.

I am new to fishkeeping and was recommended Wharf Aquatics. When I telephoned them a couple of months ago to check whether they quarantine fish, they told me that they quarantine all their fish and also dont import fish.

I am a novice but it is a great experience to look around, they have some lovely looking tanks too.

Hope you enjoy your visit

(edit, just to add dont worry when I say I am new my tank is cycled, I already have some Guppies and Otos, have gained tons of info from this site thanks to all)

If they have knight gobies I will be there, only half an hour from here. Anybody know? Short supply everywhere else. Want to look around there anyway, what time you going sarah?

P.S. If anyone wants any Java moss I've got enough to fill about 5 tanks! Let me know and I'll bring some with me, gotta get rid of some so I get more room for fish!!

I will be there at 12 with two kids who wont be shouting nemo, nemo, nemo LOL. And if you have any spare java moss, my LFS never has any, so its a date :p
