Ok...WallyWorld had them(hatchable eggs) in the fish food aisle so I got a pack thinking they were brine shrimp type critters. But they apparently are not and actually feed on brine shrimp themselves when(if!)they mature.Anyone know what they are and whether they are suitable as fish food for bettas and others?

I have one very finicky opague white female(from Aquabid) who has turned her pretty lil nose up at everything...even frozen bloodworms.I can't find live food which is what she is accustomed to,and it's been over a week since I got her.She still won't eat pellets or flakes or anything that my other fish eat.I'm getting pretty desperate

Thanks for any info :)

never heard of them but i would give it a try. have you tried maybe frozen brine shrimp? i give mine live and they love it. or have your little koda jr catch some water bugs. my daughter brought some home with fish from the pond at the library and my bettas went nuts for them.

You're probably only going to get 8-12 triops out of one package. They grow extremely fast (double in size every day or so) and eventually end up having hard shells like a hermit crab, so at some point they go from edible to something the fish might choke on, and I don't really know where that point would be.

They cost about $3.50 here... that seems like a lot to spend for 2-3 feedings tops. Probably not the best avenue.

Back to the drawing board then...thanks :)

I have an old tank that could maybe be used for hatching brine shrimp if I need to go that route. This is my first really finicky fish :/
